CARE FROM DAY ONE
A cancer diagnosis is a terrifying moment. Dealing with the news, and what it could mean, is one of the hardest things a person might face. Having the right care in place to help you as you come terms with the diagnosis can make a huge difference. As you go through treatment, our care team can provide you with practical care to help you manage your symptoms and the challenges that arise in daily life. We’ll be with you throughout your illness.
RECOVERY CARE
Treatment for many forms of cancer can be gruelling, and the recovery time extensive. During recovery, many people find that they need assistance with daily tasks. For some, family members are able to offer that help, but it’s often better to have professional help from a care team. As you proceed with treatment and recovery, our team can provide that help.
PALLIATIVE CARE
Sadly, cancer is not always treatable. Should that be the case, it’s important to ensure that palliative or end of life care is in place, helping the patient to have the best possible quality of life right up until the end. While the patient’s medical team handles that side, our carers can support the individual at home, taking care of tasks such as personal care and housekeeping.
CARE BASED ON YOUR NEEDS
Because each person’s experience of cancer is different, with different symptoms, it’s essential that the care you or your loved one receives is tailored to the needs of the individual. That’s what we do at Girassol Community Care. We provide person-centred care for cancer, working with people who just need a little help, and those who need complex care.
We can provide support at any stage of the process, from the initial diagnosis, through any treatment, and into either recovery or the palliative stage. At every step of the way, our carers will be at your side, providing you with the support that you need.
